Samskrit through Correspondence

Overview

Now, you can register online for a Samskrit Correspondence Course by Samskrita Bharati, instead of following the manual procedure below.

Want to learn Samskrit in the convenience of your own home at your own pace? Samskrita Bharati has designed a unique package to teach Samskrit via correspondence in four levels – pravesha (प्रवेशः), parichaya (परिचयः), shikSha (शिक्षा), kovida (कोविदः) – each lasting about 6 months. At the end,  you will be ready to study and understand advanced Samskrit literature such as kaavyas, bhagavadgIta and other philosophical works by yourselves. You will become proficient in speaking as well as writing articles in simple Samskrit. You will also be eligible for enrolling into the Masters’ course in Samskrit (called M.A. in India) offered by the Karnataka State Open University, (KSOU) Mysore, INDIA.

Though not strictly a prerequisite, we highly recommend the 10 day primary face-to-face Spoken Samskrit class by Samskrita Bharati prior to enrolling into the correspondence courses.

This course is available for people of all ages (above 16 years) and qualifications. Study material (books) will be provided. At the end of each level, there will be an examination by Samskrita Bharati to help you assess your knowledge, along with a certificate.

To facilitate correct pronunciation, Samskrita Bharati has published CDs containing the Samskrit portion of the lessons of the first two levels, namely, Pravesha and Parichaya (not yet ready for levels 3 and 4). The cost of each CD is Rs. 75/- (Rs. 125/- including postage).

My self Durga Khatri from Ahmedabad and on 27/12/2011 I have sent the Application form for “Pravesha” with Rs.200/- Cheque through Speed Post ( EG100861833IN )

Till date the cheque was not cleared so I called at Delhi office (+91-11-23517689) today from there I came to know that the application form was not reached there.

    Hi,

I live in the UK and am interested in enrolling for the Sanskrita shiksha or kovida course as I have studied Sanskrit until SSC in India and privately thereafter. Would the fee be same for UK students? I think I am comfortable with the language and may not need the Sambhashanam pre-req course. So apart from this can the rest of the course be studied entirely online? Where do we take the exams?

    Many thanks for your help!
